Community Cross Carrying Walk for Jesus

Join the Wellsboro community for a reverent Cross Carrying Walk for Jesus on Good Friday as we remember Christ’s journey to the cross through prayer, song, and shared witness.

We will gather at 9:50 AM at the Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce, in front of the large American Elm tree, and begin the walk at 10:00 AM. The walk will follow a route through downtown Wellsboro, with brief stops at local churches for short prayers, devotions, songs, or moments of meditation. Along the way, participants will take turns carrying the wooden cross as a visible sign of faith and unity.

The walk will proceed along sidewalks only. Participants are asked to be mindful of pedestrians and remain on the sidewalks at all times. Those wishing to carry the cross are encouraged to wear gloves, as the cross is wooden.

Route Highlights Include Stops At:
• The Episcopal Church
• The Presbyterian Church (PDSM)
• The United Methodist Church

We will sing together as we walk and conclude at the United Methodist Church on Queen Street.
