Free Author Event at Mansfield Free Public Library 

The Mansfield Free Public Library is hosting a Meet The Author event at 10:30am on Saturday, Oct. 14 in the library at 71 North Main Street in Mansfield. It’s free and open to kindergartners to teenagers. Featured will be Kevin Coolidge of Wellsboro, an author of books for children and teenagers that are also enjoyed by adults. He is the owner of From My Shelf Books & Gifts at 7 East Avenue in Wellsboro. “Kevin will read an excerpt from one of his books, ‘The Totally Ninja Raccoons Meet Bigfoot,’ talk about his writing process and putting the fun in reading. There will also be free snacks and a craft to do,” said Librarian Angela Dunlap.

The library has Coolidge’s Totally Ninja Raccoon 10-book series plus four picture books about pets he wrote and a novella for ages 13 and up. The novella is titled “Operation Ragnarok” and is about a group of friends who grew up playing Dungeons & Dragons together. Part fantasy and part heist, the characters plan to steal a Viking long ship from a museum, and unleash Ragnarok, the Norse Mythology version of the end of the world. Coolidge wrote “Operation Ragnarok” for adults and it turned out to be popular with teenagers as well. In addition, Coolidge is bringing new copies of the books he wrote, which will be available for purchase. He will autograph them.
