Refuse To Be A Victim® crime prevention and personal safety seminar being held on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 9am to 1pm in the multi-purpose room at Hickory Hall at 66 Morris Drive on the Mansfield University campus.
Certified course instructors are Marilyn Jones and Michelle Lawrence. This seminar is for men and women, college age and older. Forty-five seats are available. "This is a non-gun, non-shooting seminar," Jones said. Created by the women of the National Rifle Association, this course covers personal safety while at home, in the workplace and in other situations, such as shopping. “Those who attend will learn more about what they can do to be safe, to make themselves and where they live less vulnerable, and how to be more observant in their daily lives to minimize the risk of becoming a victim,” said Jones.
The fee is $20 to cover the cost of the book and classroom time. Visit http://www.mansfield.edu and search the menu for the campus map for information on how to get to Hickory Hall. To register or for more information, contact Marilyn Jones at
