Each Chamber member can decide how involved you would like to
be in our organization, based on your available time and interests.
Please read below to learn about some of the ways that you can
participate.
Monthly Luncheon Meetings
The Wellsboro Area Chamber of Commerce (WACC) conducts a luncheon
meeting on the fourth Tuesday of every month from Noon until approximately
1:00 PM. The location of these meetings will be announced at least
one month in advance. During those meetings, WACC’s Board
of Directors provide reports on various
topics including finances and membership. Additionally, our Committee
Chairs provide updates on their activities
and projects, ranging from beautification to event planning. These
meetings are open to the public.
Committees [or Work Groups]
Wellsboro is comprised of a diverse group of individuals with
varied talents, education, work experience and interests. Various
Committees have been created to plan or manage various organizational
activities that are critical to WACC’s success. These Committees
are comprised of volunteers who meet on an as-needed basis, and
also include a Director and WACC staff
member.
Festivals and Events
WACC hosts a number of annual events, some of which draw upwards
of 30,000 visitors to our area. Those events rely heavily upon
volunteers whose duties vary widely, such as soliciting vendors
for Laurel Festival, chalking sidewalks for Dickens of a Christmas,
managing spectators at the Susquehannock Trail Pro Rally, and selling
commemorative t-shirts at the Laurel Classic Mountain Bike Race.
Local Benevolence
In addition to dues payments, the Wellsboro Area Chamber of Commerce
is supported by donations. These donations provide a valuable source
of additional funds for projects such as decorating the boulevards
on Main Street.
